Believe in Yourself.
You think you have nothing at all
When things don’t go your way
Just take a minute to think
You say you’re at your lowest to sink
But believe in me, there’s some below you
You say this can’t be so
I don’t have a phone to get through
But believe me, some don’t even have people to call
Then you say, but this cant be true
There’s always someone you can call on
Please, they have noone
OK, so you say my lights are off, it’s too dark
Please, there are some that can’t see at all
There’s some that sleeps in parks
Darkness is what they believe, they truly cannot see
Oh, but then you complain I have no money
Believe me they haven’t any
You see them on the trains and even in the streets
They ask and ask until they succeed
Now you’re out of food but have two cans of soup
At least you have a meal for today and had one yesterday
They missed their share of nutrition for the past two days
And today is neither going in their favor
Oh, don’t forget you’re a few months late in your rent
But your landlord is willing to work with you
Imagine being homeless and nowhere to lay your head
Well, let me tell you, that’s what they’re going through
Days spent looking for what little help comes their way
Nights spent in parks, boxes, and empty buildings, even in subways
You see they feel there is no other way
Self-pity is what they brought upon themselves to believe
So they take the hard way to receive
Now you say you have noone, nothing, broke
Please take a look around to take time to realize
You have more than what they believe they can ever have
Believe, you are not at your lowest until you drop your soul and stop trusting in yourself.
